Niacinamide helps support the skin barrier, while hyaluronic acid and glycerin draw in moisture. Meanwhile, baobab and green tea bring antioxidant care, so skin looks fresh and radiant.

Shea butter, hemp seed oil and panthenol soften and nourish, yet the texture stays light with a soft pearl finish. As a result, it sits well under sunscreen and makeup. You may know it as our Standard Day Cream; the formula has been upgraded and renamed.

Hero Ingredients

Niacinamide
Niacinamide is a water-soluble form of Vitamin B3 and one of skincare’s great multitaskers. It supports the skin’s own production of barrier lipids such as ceramides. In turn, skin holds on to moisture better. Over time, it also helps patchy, uneven areas look smoother and more even, including marks left by breakouts. Best of all, it is gentle and suits most skin types.

Baobab Fruit Extract
Baobab, Africa’s iconic ‘tree of life’, bears a fruit naturally rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants. These help defend skin against the everyday stress that leaves it looking dull. As a result, skin looks fresher, more radiant and more even with regular use. Plus, it gives your range a proudly African hero ingredient.

Sodium Hyaluronate
This is the salt form of hyaluronic acid. Remarkably, it can hold many times its own weight in water. Therefore, it draws moisture into the skin’s surface for plump, dewy hydration. In this way, it adds a light, weightless layer of moisture.

Panthenol
Panthenol is Pro-Vitamin B5. Once on the skin, it converts to pantothenic acid. For this reason, it is a favourite for soothing dry, tight-feeling skin and supporting a healthier-looking barrier. Because it attracts moisture, it also adds a quiet boost of hydration.

Shea Butter
Shea butter comes from the nuts of the African shea tree. Naturally rich in fatty acids and vitamins, it melts on contact with warm skin. As a result, it softens rough areas and cushions them against dryness. In addition, shea helps reduce moisture loss, so skin stays soft and nourished.

Supporting Cast

Every ingredient earns its place. Here’s what else is in our day cream and why.

Aloe Ferox: Aloe Ferox is South Africa’s indigenous aloe, native to the Cape. In fact, local skincare has relied on it for generations. Its inner gel is rich in polysaccharides that soothe and hydrate the skin. Plus, it gives your range a genuinely local hero to talk about.

Green Tea Extract: Rich in antioxidant polyphenols such as EGCG, green tea helps defend skin against everyday stress. It also leaves skin feeling refreshed.

Hemp, Grapeseed and Sunflower Oils: Hemp brings omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, while grapeseed and sunflower are light, linoleic-rich oils that sink in quickly. Together they nourish without a heavy feel.

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride: A light, silky emollient from coconut oil. It softens skin and helps the cream glide on without a greasy feel.

Allantoin: Allantoin occurs naturally in plants such as comfrey. It soothes and softens the skin’s surface, so it feels smooth rather than rough. Best of all, it is gentle enough for twice-daily use.

Glycerin: A humectant that draws water into the outer layers of the skin and helps keep it there. As a result, skin feels hydrated rather than tight.

Vitamin E: Tocopherol is a fat-soluble antioxidant. Because of this, it helps defend skin against everyday environmental stress. Vitamin E also conditions dry patches, leaving skin soft and cared for.

Texture ingredients: Cetearyl Alcohol (a plant-derived fatty alcohol, not the drying kind), Cetyl Alcohol, PEG-20 Stearate, Glycol Distearate and Xanthan Gum give the cream its light body and soft pearl finish. As a result, it spreads easily and sinks in without a greasy feel.

Essential Oil version (Polysorbate 20 & Essential Oil): Only in the scented version. Each brand chooses the essential oil, and we declare it on the label with any allergens it contains.

Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Benzoate & Potassium Sorbate: A paraben-free, formaldehyde-free system that protects against bacteria, yeast and mould. As a result, it keeps the product fresh from first use to last.

Disodium EDTA: Not a preservative, but a helper. It binds the trace minerals naturally found in water, so they cannot affect the formula. As a result, the product stays clear, fresh and working as it should.

How to Use:

Smooth a small amount over clean face and neck in the morning, after any serums. It also works well in the evening. This cream does not contain SPF, so always finish with sunscreen during the day. It layers well over most serums, including acids and Vitamin A, as the last step before sunscreen. Avoid the eye area. For external use only. Patch test before first use.
